Second Time Lucky for Wedding Photography at Ayrshire’s Enterkine House

As an Ayrshire wedding photographer you don’t often get the chance to photograph a wedding twice.

One slightly unexpected positive from Covid was the opportunity to photograph Georgia and Scott’s wedding at Enterkine Country House Hotel near Ayr twice!

Many couples decided to move their wedding dates due to the Covid restrictions but Georgia and Scott decided to go ahead with their original wedding date with two witnesses and then have their full wedding and reception a year later when most restrictions had eased.

It was well worth the wait as it turned out to be a fantastic day for everyone.

I love this shot of Georgia in her dress for the first time. This was taken with natural light coming in from the window.

I started, as I often do, taking candid shots of Georgia getting ready with her bridesmaids and Mum and Scot with his best man and ushers.

I often find this is a really good part of the day to get nice candid shots of everyone as well as a few shots of Georgia in her dress.

Georgia asked me to take a shot of her Mum sorting her veil which was very special to her.

After that it was time for the wedding ceremony which still felt like a normal wedding ceremony even though there was no signing of the register at the end.

The ceremony is also a good time for expressions and emotions which I love capturing.

The speeches are always a great time to capture everyone’s reactions.

After the ceremony we did a few family group shots which Georgia and Scott had requested before spending a little time to get shots of them together. Even though these shots are set up, I like to create little moments and encourage couples to enjoy the moment and be themselves.

While I was taking shots Georgia and Scott were also chatting to each other and other guests which made for some nice candid moments.

The speeches are another great part of the day for expressions and emotions, so I like to capture the interactions between everyone as they react to what the Father of the Bride, Groom or Best Man are saying.

It was too windy to take shots outdoors so I made best use of areas of the hotel to get some nice natural shots.

When the dinner was over there was time for a few evenings shots before the start of the evening reception.

As well as all the other parts of the day, this is what Georgia and Scott had missed last year, so it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and a privilege to be able to capture that for them.
