As professional wedding photographers, we’ve photographed numerous weddings at the New Lanark Mill Hotel but it is never the same twice.
Each wedding is unique and there are so many different locations you can use, which also vary depending on the seasons.
As a photographer, I’m also adapting to each wedding as it unfolds. I photograph quite a lot of the wedding candidly, capturing things as they happen. For instance, for Vicki and Simon’s wedding at New Lanark, I noticed Simon doing up his tie in the mirror. With a quick snap I captured the moment which made for a fun wedding photograph.
One thing, which always changes at New Lanark is where the wedding ceremony is held. On this occasion Vicki and Simon were lucky with the weather as it meant they could have the wedding ceremony on the roof garden, which is a unique location with wonderful views over the hotel and New Lanark village. It also makes for a great location to have a group photograph of everyone at the wedding.
After the ceremony, I spent some time with Vicki and Simon taking shots of them together. One of my favourite spots is down by the Falls of Clyde where you can great some great shots with the falls behind the couple.
