Crossbasket Castle Wedding

Hannah and George

A Romantic Crossbasket Castle Wedding

Hannah and George’s Crossbasket Castle Wedding was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love being a Glasgow wedding photographer. Their celebration was filled with warmth, fun, laughter, and some amazing moments from the early morning preparations to their first dance.

‘We love the pictures. Thank you so much.’

Hannah and George

If you’re planning to have your wedding at Crossbasket Castle or a similar venue and would like to have your special day capture in a similar way, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.

Zuzu

The day began at Hannah’s parent’s house, where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was relaxed, with hair and makeup happening in every corner while everyone chatted. This part of a wedding morning is always great for capturing natural, candid  moments. One of Hannah’s special requests was a photo with her dog, Zuzu,  so we headed outside for some fun shots of the two of them together. Her parents’ garden was also a perfect backdrop for some portraits with her bridesmaids and family before everyone set off for the ceremony.

Longest Confetti Line!

The Old Parish Church in Denny was packed with guests, creating a wonderful atmosphere as Hannah walked down the aisle with her dad. The church was filled with beautiful natural light, which allowed me to capture all their emotions and expressions during the ceremony. After the ceremony, I organised what must have been the longest confetti line I’ve ever created, snaking right around the side of the church. It was aa lot of fun to do and created some great shots.

15th Century Charm

From there, we drove over to Crossbasket Castle. With its period charm and history dating back to the 15th Century, it’s a great venue to work at as a Crossbasket Castle wedding photographer. When I arrived, all the guests were enjoying drinks outside, which made it easy to gather everyone for some family group shots.

Because the journey had taken a little longer than expected, I realised I only had about ten or fifteen minutes before everyone was due to be called in for dinner. Fortunately, I had done a recce of the grounds beforehand, so I knew exactly where to take Hannah and George for their photoshoot. It’s at moments like this that I always say I’m like a swan, calm on the surface but paddling like mad underneath. Keeping the couple relaxed is always the priority.

Down by the Riverside

We headed down to the riverside walk, which gave them a quiet moment together while I captured some natural shots of them together. From there, we strolled back up through the gardens for portraits with the castle in the background.  Just as we wrapped up, it started raining!

The speeches that followed were funny and emotional. I always love capturing candids of everyone’s reactions. After a short break before the evening celebrations, we nipped out to the old fountain at the front of the castle for a few final portraits.

Dancing Queen

The evening reception was one of the most energetic I’ve photographed. The dance floor was full from the first song, with guests of all ages joining in and dancing enthusiastically to some ABBA!. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Hannah and George’s Crossbasket Castle Wedding was a real pleasure to photograph. If you’re planning your own celebration and looking for a Crossbasket Castle wedding photographer or a Glasgow wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
